3.6 Starting the Camera Using the Factory IP Address
Under certain circumstances, resetting the camera to its factory IP address may
become necessary. This could be the case if the IP address of the camera has been
lost or the camera does not react to the last known IP address.
In order to start the camera using its factory IP address, hold the magnetic side of
the supplied custom tool onto the spot on the camera casing containing the L but-
ton (the magnetic switch is mounted inside the camera casing):
Disengage the outer shell using the supplied
custom tool (see section 2.8,
Disassembling
the Camera
).
If the camera was powered on, disconnect
the power supply of the camera by unplug-
ging the corresponding cable.
Reconnect the camera's power supply and
hold the magnetic side of the custom tool on
the spot labeled "L" button in the figure.
Only remove the custom tool when the LEDs
are lighting up permanently and the camera
plays a sound ("Boing").
The camera is now accessible again using its factory IP address (see label on
the camera casing).

Make sure you store the
configuration to the
permanent flash memory
Users and passwords will
not be changed
Note
When you use the camera's L button to load the factory configuration,
this configuration is not automatically saved to flash memory. Upon
restarting the camera without using the camera's L button, the last
stored configuration will be used. To permanently store the
configuration in the camera's flash memory, open Admin Menu >
Store.
Caution
As opposed to resetting the camera using Admin Menu > Reset
configuration to factory defaults, the user names and passwords
will
not
be reset when the camera is booted using the factory IP
address.
